Railroad station museumDowntown Omaha350 seated; 600 for a standing reception
Omaha's Union Station opened in 1931, a Gilbert Stanley Underwood design clad in cream-glazed terra cotta that was named a National Historic Landmark in 2016. Union Pacific handed the building to the city in 1973 and the Durham Museum took it over; passengers once queued for tickets where the Scott Great Hall now seats 350 for dinner, or 600 standing, Art Deco under a 65-foot ceiling with its original chandeliers. Vows tend to happen at the West End, which holds 175 and can only be added to one of the larger rooms — the Swanson Gallery, once the station's Hayden House restaurant, seats 250 on its own. Bear in mind this is a working exhibition space rented after hours, so the schedule is tighter than at a purpose-built ballroom.
