Greenvelope charges one flat price per mailing, set by the size of the guest list — not per guest. $19 covers up to 20 people, $99 up to 100 and $499 up to 1,000, after a free trial for up to 10 people. Wedvite is $89 once for any guest count, RSVP included.

Is Greenvelope free?
Only to try. Greenvelope's free trial mode lets you send to up to 10 peoplewith no credit card, and its own wording is blunt about the ceiling: “Send greeting cards to up to 10 people for free in trial mode. Any mailing or invitation sent to more than 10 people will require an upgrade.” Designing and previewing costs nothing, so you can see exactly what a guest will get before you decide.
That makes Greenvelope a paid product for any real wedding. There is no permanent free tier, no ad-supported version and no free send at wedding scale — which, to be fair, is also why there is no advertising anywhere near your invitation. Greenvelope states it is ad-free, always.
Wedvite's free stage has the same shape and a different limit: design the whole invitation without paying and share it with your first 10 guests, then pay once to publish it for everyone. Neither service is free for a 150-person wedding. If a permanently free send is the requirement, the honest answer is the free tiers further down this page, not us.
Does Greenvelope charge per guest?
No — and this is the part most price round-ups get wrong. Greenvelope charges one flat price for the whole mailing, and the guest count only decides which band you buy. $99 is the price of a mailing to up to 100 people, whether the list is 81 or exactly 100. There are no Coins and no subscription required.
Two details decide whether the band model is cheap or expensive for you. The count is people, not households — a family of four counts as four — and a list one person over a band moves the whole mailing up a rung: a 101st guest moves you to the 120 rung at $119, and a 160-person list is $159. Annual memberships ($60–$4,235/year) exist for couples who send several separate mailings; each mailing must be for a unique purpose and each is still capped at a per-mailing guest count.

What does Greenvelope cost for 100 guests?
$99 (flat, one mailing). A hundred guests lands exactly on the “up to 100 people” band; one more guest moves the mailing to the next rung, and at 160 people it is $159. Wedvite is $89, and that figure does not move when the list does.

The table should not be read as a clean sweep. In US dollars, every Greenvelope band up to 80 people costs less than our list price of $89, and every band up to 40 people costs less than the $49 our current code brings it to. Greenvelope also includes 500 textsand has the more developed guest-messaging tools, and Paperless Post has a permanent free tier where we only have a free design-and-share stage. Greenvelope does not sell a custom domain either, and neither do we — but Paperless Post includes a Custom URL on its All Access feature set and Bliss & Bone offers one.
Greenvelope vs Wedvite
Greenvelope and Wedvite are the two services here that include the envelope on every design; Paperless Post has one too, gated at Premium and above. Greenvelope opens a card with a liner, a stamp and background music, on every design including artwork you upload. In US dollars, $19 for up to 20 people or $39 for up to 40 is under our US list price of $89, $59 still covers 60, the card looks expensive, and the trial lets you prove it before you spend anything. Elopements, rehearsal dinners and invitation-only ceremonies are exactly its shape.
It is also the better pick when you will send several distinct mailings — save the date, invitation, details card — and want them all managed in one account on an annual membership, or when you need SMS credits included rather than bolted on. And if a particular Greenvelope design is the one you want, take it; a card you love beats a column you win.
