Luxury digital wedding invitations for a formal wedding
Written by the Wedvite founders
A luxury digital wedding invitation should feel like the start of the evening: a moving hero, an envelope that opens and your own music. Our four formal designs, Royal, Imperial, Velvet and Deco, are $49 once for unlimited guests; with music, a wax seal, a venue sketch and a second language, the full order is $139.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

Where the luxury shows
A moving hero, not a still
Each formal design opens on a looping film scene, from Imperial's chandelier ballroom to Velvet's draped arches and candlelight.
See it →Your own song
Paste a YouTube or SoundCloud link and the song plays softly as the invitation opens, for $10.
See it →A wax seal with your initials
A painted wax stamp with your initials sits on the envelope guests tap to open, for $15.
See it →Your venue, painted
An illustration of your real venue, painted in the style of your design, for $15.
See it →No per-guest pricing
The invitation is $49 once whatever the length of the list, so a long formal list costs no more.

The four formal designs
What makes a digital wedding invitation feel luxurious?
On a phone, luxury is mostly restraint and movement. The first three seconds do the work: an envelope that opens rather than a page that loads, a hero scene that moves slowly, and type set with room around it. Then the details have to hold up as guests scroll: the schedule aligned, both families named properly, nothing crowded or competing for attention.
The four designs here were drawn for formal weddings. Royal is warm ivory and soft umber with gold script. Imperial is cream and gold around a crystal-chandelier ballroom. Velvet is ivory and burgundy, with draped arches and deep red roses. Deco is gold Art Deco geometry on black. Each has a looping film hero, the animated envelope, a families section, a dress code and the RSVP.
What does the full order include, and what does it cost?
The invitation alone is listed at $89, with the design, the envelope, the schedule, the map, the RSVP and hosting through your wedding date and at least 90 days after. The full order adds four extras and is listed at $139 before any offer: your own song ($10 on its own), a wax seal with your initials ($15), a painted sketch of your venue ($15) and a second language ($10).
Each extra earns its place differently. Music changes how the invitation feels more than anything else, because the song begins as the page opens. The wax seal personalises the first thing guests touch. The venue sketch shows guests the place before they arrive, and a second language matters when one side of the family reads a different language or script.
Can a luxury invitation avoid per-guest pricing?
Elsewhere, the premium look is usually the tier you pay more for on every guest. Paperless Post puts its envelope, liner and stamp on the Premium set and charges that set per recipient, so a formal list of 200 costs far more than a list of 100. Evite and Joy also keep their envelopes on paid tiers, and Evite's packages are capped by guest count.
Here the formal designs cost the same as every other design: $49 once, for unlimited guests. A long list of relatives, colleagues and family friends, which formal weddings often have, does not change the total. You can also edit the invitation after sending, which helps when a formal schedule shifts by half an hour, and no guest is asked to pay or sign up to see it.
Which formal design suits your venue?
Match the design to the room. A ballroom or a grand hotel suits Imperial's chandeliers. A historic house or a black-tie dinner suits Royal's ivory and gold script. Velvet's burgundy and candlelight fit an evening reception or a venue with dark wood and deep colours. Deco works for city venues with marble and brass, and for a Gatsby-style party. When the venue is unusual, the painted venue sketch can carry it into whichever design you pick.
Open each live example on your phone before you choose; the hero scenes move, and a still image does not show how each one feels. If you want something softer and garden-led instead of formal, our elegant collection holds Laurel, Sakura, Provence, Bloom and Twilight. The two sets do not overlap, so between them you see the whole range before you settle on one, and every one of them costs the same.
