Wedding invitations with music: your song plays as the envelope opens
Written by the Wedvite founders
Yes. Every Wedvite design opens from an envelope, and music starts the moment a guest taps it. Each design comes with a track chosen to suit it. To play your song instead, add the music add-on for $10 and paste a YouTube, SoundCloud or TikTok link, or upload an MP3. The invitation itself is $49, paid once.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

What the music add-on actually does
Your song from a link or a file
Paste a link from YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, X, Vimeo or Facebook, or upload an MP3, M4A or WAV file of up to 20 MB from your phone.
It starts on the envelope tap
The guest taps the sealed envelope, it opens, and the song begins under the first screen. Open the live example and tap the envelope to hear it.
See it →Pick the part that plays
Set a start and an end in minutes and seconds to skip a long intro, or leave both blank and the whole song plays.
A mute button on every screen
A small round button stays in the corner of the invitation, so a guest reading on a train can silence it with one tap.
Spotify links are refused before you pay
Spotify, Apple Music, Anghami, Deezer, Tidal and Amazon Music are DRM-locked. The editor tells you at once and asks for the same song from YouTube or SoundCloud.
How does music work on a digital wedding invitation?
The invitation is a web page your guests open from one link. It starts as a sealed envelope. When the guest taps it, the envelope animates open and the music begins at the same moment, so the song arrives with the first look at your names rather than on a separate player. It keeps playing softly while they scroll through the date, the venue map and the RSVP form, and the round button in the corner pauses or resumes it.
Every design already has music of its own, so an invitation without the add-on is not silent. The music add-on replaces that track with your own song. You choose it in the editor, we fetch the audio after you order, and from then on your song is the one guests hear. Changed your mind while designing? A reset button in the editor removes your song and brings back the design's own track.
Which music links can I use?
Any public link from the sites below, or an audio file of your own. The editor checks the link while you type, so you know before paying whether it will work. A TikTok link uses the clip's own audio, voices included, which suits a dance video but not always a song. For a site it does not recognise, the editor says it will try; if that download does not work, a YouTube or SoundCloud link of the same song will.
Streaming services that lock their audio with DRM cannot be downloaded by anyone, so the editor refuses them straight away instead of taking your order and failing later. That is why a Spotify or Apple Music link turns red the moment you paste it. The fix takes a minute: search for the same song on YouTube or SoundCloud, check it is the version you want, and paste that link instead. If you own the track as a file, uploading it works too.

Why does the music wait for a tap instead of playing at once?
Phones and browsers do not let a web page play sound until the person has touched it. Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android and the major desktop browsers apply the same rule, and it exists so that pages cannot blare audio at someone scrolling in a quiet room or a meeting. An invitation that tried to autoplay its song would simply stay silent, and the guest would never know there was music at all.
The envelope is designed around that rule. The tap that opens it is the touch the browser is waiting for, so the song can start exactly when the envelope opens. Guests do not need to find a play button, and nobody hears music they did not choose to open. It also means the first thing they hear is your song arriving with your names, which is the moment the music add-on exists for.
What does a wedding invitation with music cost?
The invitation is $49, paid once, for unlimited guests, with the envelope, the RSVP form, the venue map and the design's own music included. Your own song is the music add-on at $10 on top. There is no subscription, no charge per guest who opens it, and no extra fee for a longer song or for trimming it to the part you want guests to hear.
You can design the whole invitation free and share it with your first 10 guests before paying anything, so you can try the envelope and hear the design's own track on your phone first. The music add-on is chosen in the editor and paid for with the invitation in the same checkout. After that, the invitation and your song stay online through your wedding date and at least 90 days after.
