Elegant digital wedding invitations with a quiet, refined look
Written by the Wedvite founders
Elegant digital wedding invitations rely on restraint: serif type, soft colour, plenty of space and wording in the formal third person. Our five refined designs, Laurel, Sakura, Provence, Bloom and Twilight, each open from an animated envelope onto a slowly moving painted scene, with the RSVP built in, for $49 once.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

Five refined designs
What makes a digital invitation look elegant rather than plain?
Elegance is mostly what you leave out. One or two typefaces, a narrow palette and space around every block of text read as considered; extra borders, emoji and bright colour read as busy. On a phone the opening matters too. An invitation that opens from an envelope and settles onto a quiet painted scene feels deliberate in a way a flat image never does.
The five designs here share that restraint and differ in setting. Laurel is a garden estate with gold engraving on cream. Sakura is cherry blossom and ink-brush calm. Provence is lavender fields, linen and wildflowers. Bloom is an English garden in watercolour roses. Twilight moves from day into night in cream and olive-sage. None overlaps with the formal ballroom designs on our luxury page.
How should elegant wedding invitation wording read?
Formal invitations traditionally speak in the third person: the hosts request the pleasure of the guest's company, rather than “we'd love you to come”. The register signals the tone of the day as clearly as the design does. Write dates and times in words for the most formal version, and keep each line short so it centres cleanly on a phone.
“The honour of your presence” is traditionally used for a ceremony in a place of worship, and “the pleasure of your company” for other venues. Whichever you choose, keep one register throughout: a formal opening followed by a chatty schedule reads oddly. Every line on these designs is editable, so the wording can be as formal as you like, and the four lines below show how a traditional version is usually broken up.
- ✦“Mr and Mrs [Surname] request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter [Name] to [Name]”
- ✦“Together with their families, [Name] and [Name] request the honour of your presence at their marriage”
- ✦“on Saturday, the fourteenth of June, at four o'clock in the afternoon”
- ✦“Reception to follow. Black tie optional. Kindly reply by the first of May”
Is an elegant digital invitation right for a formal wedding?
Yes, and the format is no longer the question it once was. Most guests now receive important invitations on their phones, and a well-made digital invitation with an envelope and a moving scene is closer to a printed suite than to a group message. What still signals formality is the wording, the dress code line and how clearly the details are set out.
For guests who prefer paper, print the invitation's QR code on a simple card; they scan it and open the full invitation, with the map and RSVP that paper cannot hold. The digital invitation is $49 once for unlimited guests, so a long formal list costs no more than a short one. Hosting runs through your wedding date and at least 90 days after, which covers the thank-you weeks as well.
