Choose one master guest list before sending paper or digital invitations. Give every household the same RSVP deadline, record offline replies beside online answers and reconcile by named people rather than by the number of messages received.
Design the paper route around the same information
Print the essential date, time and venue directly on the card, not only behind a QR code. Add a short readable URL alongside the code and a phone contact for guests who cannot use it. Test a physical proof with more than one phone before printing the full batch. Keep the same invitation link where possible to avoid outdated versions.

Agree how corrections are recorded
Nominate one person to reconcile replies. A household response can cover several guests, and a later message can replace an earlier answer. Keep a note of the latest confirmed status and its date rather than adding each reply as a new guest. If you cannot enter an offline response directly in your chosen tool, maintain an explicit reconciliation sheet instead of pretending it was submitted online.

Questions and answers
Should paper and digital guests have separate deadlines?
Usually a shared deadline is easier to manage. If different dates are necessary, explain them clearly and reconcile both groups before your supplier’s final deadline.
Does scanning the QR code count as an RSVP?
No. Opening the invitation and submitting a response are different actions. A page view does not tell you whether someone will attend.
