Planning a wedding in Tucson
An Arizona marriage license costs $83 by statute, is issued by the clerk of the superior court in any county, and expires one year from the date of issue anywhere in the state — there is no waiting period and no residency test, so couples flying in can collect it the same week. Check your date against the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase: satellite shows fill hotel rooms across the city from late January, and the main Tucson Gem & Mineral Show closes the run at the convention center on 11–14 February 2027. Plan transport too: plenty of guests will fly into Phoenix instead of Tucson International and drive roughly two hours south, which shapes when a sunset ceremony can realistically start.
- When to marry — October through April is the working season here, with afternoon highs mostly in the sixties to eighties and evenings cool enough to eat outside; June to September brings triple-digit afternoons and the 15 June to 30 September monsoon, when storms and blowing dust arrive late in the day.
- What it costs — Almost no Tucson venue publishes a wedding price — the properties here route you to a phone number and a site tour — so compare structure rather than headline rates. Saguaro Buttes sells the whole day as one all-inclusive package with coordination folded in. Sonoita Vineyards sits at the opposite end, renting by the hour at $100 per space and including almost nothing, so chairs, tables, tents, portable restrooms, catering and a coordinator all arrive as separate costs. Package venues fall between the two: Tucson Botanical Gardens bundles table settings, house linen, buffet service and cleanup around a single exclusive caterer. Ask for quotes against your real date and headcount, because a 125-guest Saturday in March prices nothing like the same room midweek in July.
Once the venue is settled, the next thing most couples deal with is telling everyone. A digital wedding invitation carries the address, a map, your timings and a live RSVP on one link — which matters more than usual when guests are travelling to Tucson and need directions, and plenty of notice.
