Hotel del Coronado
Historic beach resortCoronado, across the bay from downtownUp to 450 guests in the Crown Room
The Del opened in 1888 as one of the largest wooden buildings in the country, and the Crown Room is still the reason people book it — a 30-foot Oregon sugar pine ceiling fitted without nails, hung with chandeliers designed by L. Frank Baum during his winters here. Beyond it are the Ballroom, the Windsor Lawn, and a stretch of private sand at Del Beach, which means ceremony, dinner and dancing can each sit in a different register. Coronado is a bridge or a ferry from the city, so factor the crossing into your guest transport rather than assuming a short cab ride.
