Digital destination wedding invitations: one link in every country
Written by the Wedvite founders
A digital destination wedding invitation skips international postage and slow mail: every guest gets the same link, in any country, the day you send it. It can carry the weekend's schedule, travel notes, a map for each venue and a language switch. Wedvite is $49 once for unlimited guests, RSVP included.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

Why send a destination wedding invitation digitally?
Paper invitations to several countries take weeks, can cost more to post than to print, and sometimes do not arrive at all. A link reaches every guest the moment you send it, and it is the same invitation for everyone: the cousin in Toronto and the friend in Lisbon read identical times and directions. When guests have to book flights, that head start matters.
It also changes after you send it, which paper cannot. Destination plans move: a ferry time shifts, a hotel block fills, the rehearsal dinner moves to a different terrace. Edit the invitation and the link shows the current details to everyone who opens it again, so the latest version of the plan is the one your guests travel with. Send a short message when something important changes, because the link itself does not alert anyone.
What travel details should a destination invitation include?
Give guests what they need to book, not everything you know. The nearest airport, the venue's town and a sentence on getting from one to the other come first. Then the hotels where you hold rooms, with the date each block releases, and any shuttle you are arranging. Put these in their own section so the invitation stays easy to read on a phone.
Times need care across time zones. The invitation does not convert times for each reader, so write every time as local time at the venue and say so once: “All times are local.” A guest reading from another country then converts once, rather than wondering whether you already did it for them. If an event runs past midnight, give its end time as well, so nobody books a taxi for the wrong hour.
- ✦The nearest airport and the transfer time to the venue
- ✦Hotels with a room block, and the date it releases
- ✦Shuttles or transport you are arranging
- ✦Dress code for the climate and the ground: sand, cobbles or lawn
- ✦Passport or visa notes for guests who may need them
- ✦A local contact number for the weekend
How do you show a multi-day itinerary on one invitation?
Give each event its own row on the schedule: welcome drinks, the ceremony, dinner and the farewell brunch each get a time, a title and one line of detail. Put the day in that detail line (“Friday, on the terrace”), so a guest scrolling on a phone reads the weekend in order without a separate calendar.
Then add each venue as its own location, with a Google Maps button, so the beach bar, the chapel and the villa are one tap apart. When a time moves, edit the row and the same link shows the new time to everyone who opens it; send a short message as well for anything guests must act on, such as an earlier ferry.
Should the RSVP deadline be earlier for a destination wedding?
Yes. Guests need time to book flights, and you need numbers sooner because venues abroad often fix catering and room blocks well ahead. A deadline eight to ten weeks before the wedding is common for destination weddings, against three or four weeks for a local one. Put the date on the invitation's RSVP form; it closes once that day has passed.
Ask the travel questions on the same form. The RSVP can collect whether each guest needs transport and accommodation, alongside attendance, names and meal choice, so you do not run a second survey. When guests are coming from several countries, the dashboard export gives your planner one list to work from instead of a dozen message threads. Ask only what you will act on; a guest filling in a form on a phone abroad will skip a long one.
How does the language switch work for international guests?
Choose your first language free and add others for $10 each. Guests see a switch at the top of the invitation and read the page in the language they pick, and Arabic is set right-to-left automatically. 11 invitation languages are offered, including Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese and Arabic alongside English. Open the live demo to see how a guest reads the page.
One limit is worth knowing before you plan the wording. Schedule and location rows hold one Arabic version and one version for every other language, so Arabic with one other language is served in full, while two non-Arabic languages (English and Spanish, say) share the same row text. Keep row titles short, or write them in the language most guests read. Names, times and places read the same in any language, which carries most of a schedule anyway.
