Wedding invitations with photos: your engagement pictures on the invitation
Written by the Wedvite founders
Wedvite adds a photo gallery to your digital invitation. Upload up to 24 pictures from your phone once you order, or three while you design for free, then drag them into order and crop each one. Guests see them scroll past under the design's animated opening. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC files all work.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

What you can do with your photos
Up to 24 photos in the gallery
Three while you design for free, twenty-four once the invitation is paid. The gallery is the fourth step of the editor, right after the names, date and venue.
Straight from your camera roll
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF upload as they are. iPhone HEIC photos are converted to JPEG for you, so nothing needs exporting first.
Your order, your crop
Drag photos into the order you want, then move and zoom each one inside its frame so faces are never cut off.
A strip that moves on its own
Two or more photos scroll slowly across the screen. A single photo shows still, at its own shape, portrait or landscape.
See it →Undo a removal
Delete a photo by mistake and Undo puts it back where it was. Removed photos are kept for 30 days before they are cleared.
Where do the photos go on a digital wedding invitation?
Into a gallery section further down the invitation, after the opening and your names. The top of every design stays the design's own artwork or film, because that animated opening is what the envelope reveals and it is built to fit every phone. Your photos then give the page its personal half: an engagement shoot, the two of you on holiday, a picture from the day you met.
A few designs, Laurel and Twilight among them, also offer an optional framed couple portrait, a single photo set inside an ornate frame. It is a separate section you can switch on, not a replacement for the opening, and it takes one photo of its own, which you can move and zoom inside the frame. Use it for the one picture you would have printed on a card, and let the gallery carry the rest.
How many photos can a wedding invitation have?
Twenty-four in the gallery once the invitation is paid. While you design for free the gallery takes three, which is enough to see how your pictures sit in the design before deciding, and enough for a free invitation shared with a handful of guests. The limit rises the moment you order, the photos you already uploaded stay where they are, and you carry on adding from the same step.
Twenty-four is a ceiling, not a target. Six to twelve photos is usually plenty, because a long gallery on a phone becomes a lot of scrolling for guests who mostly want the date, the map and the RSVP button. Pick the photos that say something about you, mix close-ups with wider shots, put the strongest first, and leave the full album for after the wedding.
How do I upload and arrange the pictures?
Open the editor on your phone and tap the photos step. Choose pictures from your library and they upload one after another; large files are compressed on the way so the invitation stays quick to open on mobile data. An iPhone HEIC file is converted to JPEG automatically, and the editor tells you if one could not be read, so you can pick another instead of discovering a gap later.
Each thumbnail has arrows and a drag handle, so you can reorder with a thumb. Tap a photo on the invitation itself to crop it: drag to choose which part shows inside the frame and zoom in if needed. The gallery cards are portrait-shaped, so a landscape picture needs a crop to keep both of you in view. What you see on the editing canvas is the crop your guests will see.
Can guests download the photos?
The invitation has no download button and no full-screen photo viewer. The gallery is a slowly moving strip of pictures meant to be enjoyed while scrolling, not an album to save from, and that is deliberate: the page stays light on a phone, and your engagement shoot is not packaged for anyone to collect. If you want guests to keep certain photos, share an album link with them separately.
The gallery also stays editable after you send the link. Swap a picture, add one from the engagement party or remove one a parent did not like, and guests see the current gallery the next time they open the invitation. Nothing is sent again and the link does not change. Photos you remove are kept for 30 days, so a picture taken down in a hurry can still be put back in its old place.
