Portuguese and English wedding invitations for both families
Written by the Wedvite founders
With Wedvite, a Portuguese and English wedding invitation is one link carrying both languages. Guests tap PT or EN, read the full invitation and answer the RSVP in that language, and replies from Brazil, Portugal or abroad gather in one list. It is $49 once for unlimited guests, plus $10 for the second language.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

Designs for a Portuguese and English wedding
How does a Portuguese and English invitation work?
Choose a design, then pick Portuguese as the invitation language in the editor and add English as the second. The editor's own screens are in English, but the invitation itself renders in Portuguese, with section headings, countdown and RSVP questions already translated. Each line you write, such as the welcome message, has a Portuguese and an English version that you edit separately.
Guests open the invitation in your first language and switch with PT / EN. For a Brazilian family in Florida, or a Portuguese couple marrying in the Algarve with British friends, that keeps the whole guest list on one link, sent once over WhatsApp, iMessage or email, without anyone receiving the edition written for the other side. It opens in the phone's browser, with nothing to install.
How is the second language priced?
The invitation is $89 once and includes the first language, unlimited guests, the RSVP form and the opening envelope. English or Portuguese as the second language is $10, so the pair comes to $89 plus $10. You pay nothing per guest, which suits a Brazilian guest list that keeps growing as the date approaches. Optional extras, such as your own song, are priced separately in the editor.
Both editions can be built before paying: designing is free and the free invitation can be shared with your first 10 guests, so a madrinha and an English-speaking friend can each read their version. Before checkout the editor lists the language add-on in your own currency; once published, the invitation remains online through your wedding date and at least 90 days after, long enough for guests to find the map and photos again after the party.
How does Portuguese wedding wording differ from English?
Portuguese invitations usually open with both sets of parents inviting the guest to the marriage of their children, and Brazilian invitations often list the padrinhos, the couple's chosen witnesses, by name. English invitations rarely do either. Brazil and Portugal also spell differently: cerimônia in Brazil, cerimónia in Portugal, so write the Portuguese edition for the family that will read it most.
Register differs too. Portugal keeps a formal third person in invitations ('convidam V. Exa.'), while Brazil writes warmly with você or with no address at all ('convidam para a cerimônia'). The English edition can be one short sentence. Because each edition is written separately, neither has to read like a translation of the other. The names, the date and the venue are the lines both editions share automatically.
- ✦English, formal: “Paulo and Teresa Almeida request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter Beatriz to Ryan Moore”
- ✦English, from the couple: “Beatriz and Ryan invite you to celebrate their wedding”
What should Portuguese and English couples know before publishing?
Schedule rows and extra locations hold one text that both Latin-script editions show, so a row called 'Recepção' appears with that title in English as well. Write those rows in both languages, 'Cerimônia · Ceremony', or keep them to the time and place. Everything else you type keeps a separate Portuguese and English text. Location names, such as the quinta or the fazenda, follow the same rule as the rows.
Portuguese is not one of the editor's interface languages, so you build in an English editor while writing Portuguese; your guests only ever see the Portuguese invitation. Open the RSVP in Portuguese once before sending so you know the dietary choices there use English labels, and mention it in your welcome text if that will matter to your guests. It takes a minute.
