Competitor prices and features were read from the official pages on 15 September 2026: Greenvelope, Paperless Post. A cell reading "not verified on 15 September 2026" means the vendor's page did not state that figure on that date, so we leave it out rather than guess. Competitor prices are in US dollars; Wedvite's row is our own price in your currency. Prices change; confirm on the vendor's page before you buy.
Who should pick which?
Pick Greenvelope if
your list fits Greenvelope's 80-person tier ($79), or you send mailings all year. $19 for 20 people and $39 for 40 undercut Wedvite's US price of $89, memberships from $60 a year cover unlimited mailings (each for a different purpose and capped by guest count per mailing), and delivery includes SMS with 500 texts per paid account.
Pick Wedvite if
you have one wedding, a long or growing list, and guests in more than one language. $89 once covers unlimited guests, the envelope, RSVP with a guest-messages dashboard, venue map and music, in 12 languages including right-to-left Arabic, and you can change details after sending without a second bill.
Where does Greenvelope win?
Price on short lists. Greenvelope's tiers start at $19 for up to 20 people, $39 for 40, $59 for 60 and $79 for 80, all below Wedvite's US price of $89. If you send several mailings a year, its annual memberships from $60 to $4,235 cover unlimited mailings (each for a different purpose and capped by guest count per mailing), which Wedvite does not offer at all; Wedvite prices one invitation for one wedding.
Delivery breadth. Greenvelope sends by email, SMS in supported countries with 500 texts per paid account, WhatsApp, Messenger and a shareable link, with guest messaging built in. The envelope opening works on artwork you upload yourself. These are real advantages; we list them because a comparison that hides them is not worth reading.
Where does Wedvite win?
Guest count and languages. Wedvite is $89 flat with no guest-count ladder: 100 guests, 200 or 400 cost the same, whereas Greenvelope moves to $199 at 200 people. Wedvite renders the invitation in 12 languages with the typography handled per language, including right-to-left Arabic, and can serve two languages on one link or as two links.
Changes after sending. Edit the venue, time or wording on Wedvite and every guest sees it on the same link, with nothing to re-send. The RSVP includes a guest-messages dashboard where wishes land alongside responses. Guests need no app, and there are no ads. You can design everything free and share it with your first 10 guests before paying.
How much does Greenvelope cost compared with Wedvite?
Greenvelope, one mailing, one-time: $19 up to 20 people, $39 up to 40, $59 up to 60, $79 up to 80, $99 up to 100, $199 up to 200, $499 up to 1,000. Wedvite: $89 at any guest count, or $139 with every add-on (custom music, wax seal, venue sketch and a second language). A save-the-date is a separate $19 product on Wedvite.
The crossover is Greenvelope's 80-person tier: up to 80 people Greenvelope is cheaper, at $79 against Wedvite's US price of $89; from 81 guests its next rung is $99, above Wedvite. Greenvelope counts every person, so a family of four is four people and a 101st guest moves you up another rung to the 120 tier. See pricing and the Greenvelope alternatives page for the full list.
What do guests see on each?
On Greenvelope, the guest opens an email, text or chat link and watches the envelope open, with liner, stamp and background music, before the card and the RSVP appear. On Wedvite, the link unfurls into a preview card inside WhatsApp, iMessage or Instagram; tapping it opens the animated envelope, then the invitation with music, the schedule, a venue map and the RSVP form on the same page. Neither asks the guest to install an app or create an account, and neither shows ads.
The difference guests notice most is language. A Wedvite invitation can open in the guest's own language, with right-to-left typography handled for Arabic, and the RSVP comes back to one dashboard alongside the guest's written wishes. Greenvelope's guest messaging is built in as well; its strength is the send itself, with reminders and RSVP nudges going out on the channel you chose. Wedvite keeps the invitation live through your wedding date and at least 90 days after; Greenvelope does not publish a retention period.
Do both send over WhatsApp?
Yes. Greenvelope lists WhatsApp, Messenger and a shareable link beside email and SMS. Wedvite is link-first: one link you paste into WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram or an email, which unfurls into a preview card and opens the animated envelope without an app. RSVPs from either route land on the dashboard. Our WhatsApp wedding invitations page shows what guests see.
Which has a wedding website?
Neither has a website builder in the Zola or Joy sense. Greenvelope's comparison page lists a wedding website as not offered. Wedvite's invitation page carries the venue map, schedule, RSVP and guest messages on the one link and stays hosted through your wedding date and at least 90 days after, which covers what most guests need, but there is no custom domain and no registry product. For a full site, see our best wedding websites with RSVP round-up; for the invitation, digital wedding invitations from $89 flat, unlimited guests, RSVP included.
