It depends on the list. Under 50 guests Paperless Post is cheaper, because its first 50 invitations are free. At 100 guests Greenvelope is $99 for one mailing, while Paperless Post's Premium set is at most $105 and usually less. Both animate an envelope; of the two, only Greenvelope sends over WhatsApp. Wedvite is $89 flat for unlimited guests.

Who should pick which?
Pick Greenvelope if
you want one known price before you start and your guests use WhatsApp. Every design opens with the animated envelope, liner, stamp and music, the price is set by your guest count rather than by the design you choose, and delivery covers email, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger and a link.
Pick Paperless Post if
your list is short or you want the Event Page. Fifty invitations on the free set cost nothing, a 50-guest Premium send is $52.50, and the Event Page holds schedule, registry and travel blocks. Expect email and US/Canada text delivery, not WhatsApp sending.
Pick Wedvite if
you want a flat price that ignores guest count and a page that works in 12 languages including right-to-left Arabic. Wedvite is $89 once with the envelope, RSVP, venue map and one WhatsApp-ready link, and it stays editable after you send. You give up Greenvelope's small-list tiers and Paperless Post's catalogue.
Is Greenvelope cheaper than Paperless Post?
Greenvelope charges one flat price per mailing set by guest-list size: $19 for up to 20 people, $39 for 40, $59 for 60, $79 for 80, $99 for 100, $199 for 200 and $499 for 1,000. Each person counts as one (a family of four is four people), and a 101st guest moves the mailing up to the next rung. Optional annual memberships run from $60 to $4,235 a year for unlimited mailings, each for a different purpose and capped by guest count per mailing.
Paperless Post charges Coins per recipient: $0.50 per guest on Basic, $1.05 on Premium (the set that includes the envelope) and $1.44 on All Access, with the per-guest rate falling as the list grows. So at 100 guests Greenvelope is a fixed $99 and Paperless Post Premium is somewhere under $105; at 200 guests Greenvelope is $199 and Paperless Post has no published total at all. Which has the better free tier?
Paperless Post. Its pricing page says the first 50 invitations sent by email or phone number through its site can be sent without purchase. Greenvelope's free tier is trial mode: greeting cards to up to 10 people, and any mailing or invitation to more than 10 people requires an upgrade.
Neither free tier gives you the envelope. Paperless Post's free set is a plain card, and Greenvelope's trial is capped before a wedding list starts. For comparison, Wedvite lets you design everything free and share it with your first 10 guests before paying $89 to publish for everyone.
Which delivers on WhatsApp?
Greenvelope. Its delivery options are email, SMS in supported countries (500 texts are included with a paid account), WhatsApp, Messenger and a shareable link. Paperless Post sends by email, by text to US and Canadian numbers and by shareable link; it has a WhatsApp integration for guests to RSVP and receive messages, but says sending invitations via WhatsApp is not yet available.
If your families are on WhatsApp, this matters more than a few dollars either way. A WhatsApp wedding invitation is one link that unfurls into a preview card in the chat and brings RSVPs back to your dashboard, which is how both Greenvelope and Wedvite work.
How do the animated envelopes compare?
Greenvelope's envelope opening, with liner, stamp and background music, is on every design, including artwork you upload yourself. Paperless Post's envelope animation is documented in its help centre and is a paid element: it arrives with the Premium set and above, so a Basic or free send is a card without an envelope.
Both are ad-free. Greenvelope states it is 100% ad-free, always, and Paperless Post shows no ads to guests. That puts both ahead of Evite and Punchbowl for a wedding; see Evite vs Paperless Post if those are on your list.
Does either include a wedding website?
Not really. Greenvelope's own comparison page lists a wedding website as not offered and links out to a site built elsewhere. Paperless Post has no standalone wedding-website product; the site is the invitation's Event Page, built from blocks such as schedule, registry and travel. Greenvelope offers no custom domain to ordinary senders; Paperless Post sells a Custom URL only inside its All Access set ($1.44 per guest).
Wedvite's invitation page plays the same role: venue map, schedule, RSVP and a guest-messages dashboard live on the one link, hosted through your wedding date and at least 90 days after.
