Paperless Post vs Minted: which is better for online wedding invitations?
Written by the Wedvite foundersPrices checked 15 September 2026
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:
On price, Minted: its Online Invitations are free, with no per-guest fee published, and its wedding website is free too. On the invitation itself, Paperless Post: the Premium set at $1.05 per guest adds an animated envelope, liner and stamp, which Minted's single-page card lacks. Wedvite is $89 flat with the envelope included.

Competitor prices and features were read from the official pages on 15 September 2026: Paperless Post, Minted. A cell reading "not verified on 15 September 2026" means the vendor's page did not state that figure on that date, so we leave it out rather than guess. Competitor prices are in US dollars; Wedvite's row is our own price in your currency. Prices change; confirm on the vendor's page before you buy.
Who should pick which?
Pick Paperless Post if
you want the envelope opening and your list is modest. The first 50 invitations are free on a plain card; Premium, with envelope, liner and stamp, is $1.05 per guest at the rate shown for 50 guests, and falls as the list grows.
Pick Minted if
you want a free, matching set: 1,131 free Online Invitation designs with RSVP and custom questions, plus a free wedding website with registries and maps. Expect a static card sent by email or a copied link, and a custom URL at $15 a year if you want one.
Pick Wedvite if
you want an animated envelope without paying per guest. Wedvite is $89 once for unlimited guests, with the venue map and RSVP on the same page and one link to share by WhatsApp, text or email.
How much does a Minted online invitation cost?
Nothing, as far as Minted publishes. Each of its 1,131 Online Invitation designs is labelled free, and our sweep of all 290 Minted help-centre articles found no per-guest fee, no guest cap and no charge on email or link sending. Read that as "nothing Minted publishes charges for it", not as a figure from a price list.
Minted's paid digital items are flat: a custom website URL at $15 a year, a concierge working session at $49, and an original-artwork website that starts at $270. Both also sell printed stationery; our sheet does not record those prices, so they are not verified on 15 September 2026.
How much does Paperless Post cost?
Paperless Post sells Coins and spends them per recipient. The pricing page shows four feature sets: Free at $0.00 per guest, Basic at $0.50, Premium at $1.05 and All Access at $1.44, and says the per-guest price drops as the list grows. The first 50 invitations by email or phone number can go out without a purchase.
For 100 guests the page prints no total, so the honest figure is a ceiling: at most $105 on Premium. A Paperless Pro subscription ($250/year a year for 250 guests) suits people who send invitations all year.
Does either have an animated envelope?
Paperless Post does, from the Premium set up: the envelope opens and flips to show its back, with liner and stamp. Minted does not; its online invitation is a single static page, and every envelope article in its help centre is about paper suites.
How do guests receive them?
Paperless Post sends by email, by text to US and Canadian numbers and by shareable link; guests outside those countries can RSVP through WhatsApp, but sending invitations on WhatsApp is not yet available. Minted sends by email or a copied link only, with no SMS or WhatsApp channel, and its help centre warns that the link route does not email guests.
Wedvite has no sending system to learn: you get one link to paste into WhatsApp, iMessage or an email from your own phone, it unfurls into a preview card, and it opens the envelope without an app. See WhatsApp wedding invitations.
Which comes with a wedding website?
Minted, clearly. Its free wedding website includes multiple layouts, event RSVPs, gift registries, maps and directions, a wedding party page and guest accommodation, and a custom URL is $15 a year. Paperless Post has no standalone website product; the invitation's Event Page carries schedule, registry and travel blocks, and a Custom URL comes only with All Access at $1.44 per guest.
Wedvite's invitation page plays a smaller version of that role: venue map, schedule, RSVP and guest messages on one link, hosted through your wedding date and at least 90 days after, with no registry and no custom domain. For the full website comparison see our best wedding websites with RSVP round-up; the invitation is $89 once.
