Funny, unique and creative wedding invitation wording

Three things, in this order. The facts survive the joke — a guest can find the date, the time, the place and the reply deadline without reading a single funny line. The joke is about you, not about your guests, your families or anyone’s relationship. And the detail is specific: nine years and four colanders are funny, “we’re finally tying the knot” is a greetings card.

Be clear-eyed about the risk, because it is real. Humour is the highest-risk register on a wedding invitation: it is the one guests screenshot, and they screenshot it in both directions.
