How to make a wedding website, step by step
Written by the Wedvite founders
To make a wedding website, pick a design, type your names, date and venue, write the schedule, choose the RSVP questions, add a second language if guests need one, then preview and share the link. On Wedvite all seven steps happen in one editor; designing is free and publishing is $49 once, with no subscription.
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:

Tap to open the live invitation
What you are building when you follow these steps
A website that is also the invitation
Guests open one link, tap an envelope, and land on your names, schedule, map and RSVP. There is no separate card to design afterwards.
See it →Edited on the page you are looking at
Tap any sentence on the live design to rewrite it. There are no blocks to drag in or code to touch, and every change saves automatically.
A reply page that counts for you
Every RSVP lands on a private page with the headcount, meal tally and guest messages, and the list downloads as a CSV for the venue.
See it →A link that keeps working
Once published, the website stays online through your wedding date and at least 90 days after, and you can still fix a time or swap a photo after guests have it.

Competitor prices and features were read from the official pages on 15 September 2026: Zola, The Knot, Joy (withjoy.com), Squarespace. A cell reading "not verified on 15 September 2026" means the vendor's page did not state that figure on that date, so we leave it out rather than guess. Competitor prices are in US dollars; Wedvite's row is our own price in your currency. Prices change; confirm on the vendor's page before you buy.
Seven steps, each one done in the editor
Pick a design
Open the design picker at Start, tap a design to watch its live demo, and choose one. The editor opens on that design with sample wording already in every section, so you are editing, never starting blank.
Type your names
The first card asks who is getting married. Enter both first names and watch them appear on the opening screen as you type; the Change the & symbol option swaps the join between them.
Set the date and the venue
The next cards ask when and where. Pick the date, a start time and, if you like, an end time; then type the venue and paste its Google Maps link, and use Check map destination to confirm the pin.
Write the schedule
Tap the schedule section on the page. Each row has a time, a title and a short description, and you can add, hide or remove rows; a second venue goes into + Add your own section as an extra location.
Choose how guests reply
Tap the RSVP section and answer How should guests reply: a message only, a short RSVP, a full form, or a link to an RSVP page you already use. Customize guest form switches meal choice, dietary needs, hotel and transport questions on or off.
Add a language and the finishing touches
Open Personalize. The Languages tab adds a second language for $10 with a toggle for guests; the Design tab changes colors, the font pairing and the envelope color; the Sections tab hides or reorders sections.
Preview, publish and share
Use Preview to see it as a guest on a phone. Share it free with your first 10 guests, or choose Publish for everyone at $49 once; then copy the link, send it to WhatsApp, or save the free WhatsApp poster with its QR code.
What do you need ready before you start?
Less than you might think, and nothing technical. Have your names as you want them shown, the date and start time, and the venue's address or its Google Maps share link. A photo or three helps, but the designs look finished without one, so it can wait. With those you can finish the first three steps in one sitting and see a real page with your details on it.
The rest can come in pieces over the following weeks: the order of the day with rough times, the questions you want in the RSVP, a dress code line, how you would like guests to handle gifts, and any hotel or transport notes. Each of those is a section you tap and type into, and everything saves as you go, so there is no publish deadline forcing you to have it all at once.

What should a wedding website include?
The essentials are the ones guests act on: when, where, what happens in what order, what to wear, and how to reply. Story, photos and a gifts note make it personal, but a site with only the essentials still does its job. Our longer guide on what to include on a wedding website walks through each section with examples, including what most couples leave out and regret.
On Wedvite those essentials map straight onto sections that already exist in every design: the countdown and names on the opening screen, the schedule, the venue with its map, the dress code, gifts, a note about children, and RSVP. Your job is to write them in your own words and hide whatever you do not need, rather than to decide on a structure from scratch.
How much does it cost to make a wedding website?
It depends on what the website is. Zola, The Knot and Joy build a wedding website for free and charge for extras such as printed cards and a custom domain sold by the year; Zola and The Knot do not sell digital invitations at all, so the invitation is a separate purchase. Squarespace has no free plan, only a trial, then a monthly or yearly subscription for the site.
On Wedvite the website and the invitation are the same page. Making it is free, sharing with your first 10 guests is free, and publishing for unlimited guests is $49 once. Music, a wax seal, a venue sketch and extra languages are optional, each priced in the editor (music $10, wax seal $15, venue sketch $15, each language $10).
Can you change the website after guests have the link?
Yes, and you probably will. Venues move start times, a shuttle gets added, a photo looks better in a different place. Wording, photos and the envelope color stay editable after you order, and the link guests already have does not change, so the next time anyone opens it they see the current version without you sending a second message to the whole list.
Two things are worth knowing. The design itself is chosen when you start, so switching from one design to another means starting a new draft rather than flipping a setting. And the reply page does not email you each time someone answers, so check it now and then in the run-up to your RSVP deadline, and download the CSV once replies settle.
