Evite vs Punchbowl: which is better for a wedding?
Written by the Wedvite foundersPrices checked 15 September 2026
Wedvite's list price is $89. This code brings it to $49, applied automatically at checkout:
Evite is better if you want to pay once: Diamond at $99.99 covers up to 750 guests, and free designs cost nothing with ads. Punchbowl is a membership, from $5.99/month for up to 100 guests with ads or from $7.99/month without, with an envelope-opening animation. Wedvite is $89 once for unlimited guests.

Competitor prices and features were read from the official pages on 15 September 2026: Evite, Punchbowl. A cell reading "not verified on 15 September 2026" means the vendor's page did not state that figure on that date, so we leave it out rather than guess. Competitor prices are in US dollars; Wedvite's row is our own price in your currency. Prices change; confirm on the vendor's page before you buy.
Who should pick which?
Pick Evite if
you would rather pay once than subscribe. Free designs handle up to 750 guests if ads beside the card are acceptable, and Premium removes them: $68.99 for up to 75 guests or $99.99 for up to 750. Each package covers one event, with no credit towards a bigger one if the list grows.
Pick Punchbowl if
several events lead up to the day (a shower, an engagement party, the wedding) and you want them on one membership. Every tier allows unlimited events; Platinum, from $7.99/month, covers up to 500 guests per event without ads and adds a custom event link on punchbowl.com.
Pick Wedvite if
the wedding is the event that matters and you want neither ads nor a renewal. Wedvite is $89 once for unlimited guests, with the animated envelope on every design and RSVP built in, shared as one link from your own phone. You can design it free and share it with your first 10 guests before paying.
Is Evite free for a wedding?
It can be. A free-labelled Evite design costs nothing for up to 750 guests and tracks RSVPs in real time, but Evite shows ads to guests on free invitations. Its Event Pages are free as well, without a registry, co-hosts, a gallery or an RSVP deadline.
The moment you pick an envelope with colour, stamp and liner, a reveal effect or an RSVP-by date, the design turns Premium. Premium is bought once per event and sized by the list: $17.99 up to 12 guests, $36.99 up to 30, $68.99 up to 75 and $99.99 up to 750. Packages cannot be moved to another event, and outgrowing one means buying the next tier in full.
Is Punchbowl free for a wedding?
No. Punchbowl has no permanent free tier. Plus, Premium and Platinum start with a 7-day free trial that takes payment details up front, after which the membership begins; Business has no trial. Its help centre says annual memberships are charged for the full year, and the pricing page does not say which billing term sits behind the monthly figure.
On 15 September 2026 the live page showed Plus from $3.99/month for up to 50 guests per event, Premium from $5.99/month for up to 100, Platinum from $7.99/month for up to 500 and Business from $39.99/month for up to 5,000, each beside a struck-through price roughly twice as high. Punchbowl runs more than one price test, so the figures you see may differ.
What does a 100-guest wedding cost on Evite or Punchbowl?
Evite: $99.99, once. Platinum stops at 75 guests, so Diamond is the cheapest package that covers 100, and the free design remains if ads are acceptable. Punchbowl: from $5.99/month on Premium, whose cap is exactly 100 guests per event, or from $7.99/month on Platinum to remove ads and leave room for a list that grows.
The two are hard to set side by side because Punchbowl does not publish its billing term: one month of Premium costs less than Diamond, but a membership that runs through a long engagement can cost more. Wedvite is $89 once with no renewal, whether you invite 100 guests or 300; see pricing.
Which one shows ads to wedding guests?
Both, unless you pay to remove them. Evite puts ads beside free invitations and drops them on any Premium package. Punchbowl shows advertising to hosts and guests on Plus and Premium; only Platinum and Business are ad-free. For a 100-guest wedding that makes the ad-free choices $99.99 at Evite or from $7.99/month at Punchbowl.
Which handles RSVP and guest messages better?
Both track RSVPs. Evite's tracking is live on every tier, but the RSVP-by deadline is Premium-only, and guests who arrive through a shared link stay off your list until they reply. Punchbowl includes RSVP, lets you message individual guests from the manage page, and sends by email, text and WhatsApp as well as a link; Evite's texts reach US and Canadian numbers only, and WhatsApp means sharing its link.
Is either one built for weddings?
Neither is a wedding specialist, and neither has a wedding-website builder. Evite's lineup is invitations, Event Pages, greeting cards and sign-up sheets; a Punchbowl link opens the invitation itself, and Platinum's custom event link is an address on punchbowl.com, not your own domain.
A wedding invitation usually needs a venue map, the day's schedule and a reply form on one page that looks the same for every guest. Wedvite makes only that: digital wedding invitations from $89 flat, unlimited guests, RSVP included, with the animated envelope on every design and the page available in 11 languages. It has no ad-supported free tier and no registry. More pairs are on the comparisons hub.
