Planning a wedding in Valencia
Fallas takes the whole city out of commission from 15 to 19 March — accommodation fills, streets around the centre close for processions, and a mascletà is fired in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento at two o'clock every afternoon from 1 March onwards. Keep a wedding date well clear of that fortnight. October into early November is gota freda season on this coast, when a very large amount of rain can arrive in a single day; a venue whose only wet-weather plan is a marquee is a genuine risk in that window. Almost everything on this list sits 10 to 30 kilometres out in l'Horta or inland towards Chiva and Bétera, so coach transfers for guests are a normal Valencia budget line rather than a luxury.
- When to marry — May, June and September suit Valencia best — warm enough to keep the entire day outdoors, clear of the July and August heat that pushes past 35°C inland, and ahead of the autumn storm season.
Once the venue is settled, the next thing most couples deal with is telling everyone. A digital wedding invitation carries the address, a map, your timings and a live RSVP on one link — which matters more than usual when guests are travelling to Valencia and need directions, and plenty of notice.
