## How ordering works (self-serve)

1. Visit https://wedvite.net/start and pick a template (each card opens its live demo + a "Use this template" CTA).
2. On `/start/[theme]`, type names and the wedding date. The system creates a draft and returns a personal `/edit/[token]` link.
3. Edit inline in the editor with live preview. Toggle sections (hide RSVP, hide gallery, etc.), pick fonts and colours, and choose add-ons. Autosave runs continuously.
4. Click "Publish" → Polar-hosted checkout → pay with any major card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, in your local currency.
5. Receive your `/share/[slug]` dashboard with the share-link cards: invitation URL, a second-language invitation URL if an extra language was bought, and a messages-token URL for the wishes + RSVP dashboard.
6. The draft becomes a permanent invitation. Edits remain live; every guest opening the same link sees the latest version.

## Languages

Every template renders in 12 languages — including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and Swedish. One language is included in the base price; each additional language is +$10 (the "Extra language" add-on).

Each guide lists real, individually verified venues with the venue type, its setting, seated capacity, an independent description of what the space actually is, and a link to the venue's own site. Guides also carry local planning context (marriage-licensing rules for foreign couples, peak-season pressure, typical local spend) and destination-specific FAQs.

Editorial policy, stated on every guide: no paid placements, no affiliate links, no commissions, and no venue has any input into what is written. Venues that cannot be independently confirmed to exist and host weddings are excluded. Photographs are freely-licensed images credited to their photographers. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed.

These guides exist because couples researching venues are usually a few weeks away from needing to invite people — the guides sit upstream of Wedvite's invitation product, and each one links to it.

## Trust and privacy

Each invitation is a private URL. Guests can view the invite, submit an RSVP, and leave a wish — but cannot see who else was invited, edit the page, or access the dashboard. The couple owns and controls everything from their share dashboard.

Customer-private invitation routes (`/edit/[token]`, `/preview/[token]`, `/share/[slug]`, `/auth/*`) are deliberately excluded from search indexes.
